I grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, where I developed a passion for music and woodworking. An interest in instrument design led me into building electric guitars under the brand, Pinehouse Guitars. This was a great introduction into luthiery that felt accessible and served as a gateway into developing some basic skills for what was coming.

In 2013, after building guitars for a few years on the side, I tried my hand at building an F5 mandolin. I was absolutely captivated by the process and knew that I had found my path. I now build mandolins full time in a one man shop. They’re built in small, staggered batches to ensure that every instrument receives my full attention. Using a combination of modern and old world building techniques has allowed me to keep a steady pace while staying connected with the wood that goes into each mandolin.
